I read a sentence recently that stopped me in my tracks:
Listen deeply enough to hear what is true, seek it with an open heart, build a life from what you discover, let love be what it’s all for, and whenever you lose your way, return.
I stared at it for a minute and thought:
That’s my life.
Not because I’ve always known what was true. Not because I’ve always lived with an open heart. And certainly not because I’ve never lost my way.
Quite the opposite.
My life has been a story of losing my way—and learning how to return.
For years, I thought finding my way meant finding answers. Now I think it has much more to do with remembering what I already know when all the noise gets quiet enough for me to hear it.
I return to God.
I return to nature.
I return to connection.
I return to love.
And somewhere along the way, something changed.
I stopped wanting only to find my way back. I began wanting to create a place where other people could find theirs.
That desire became Finding Grace Sanctuary.
Not a place where someone tells you who you should become. Not a place that promises to fix what is wrong with you.
A place to get quiet enough to listen.
A place to walk among trees, sit beside an animal, make something with your hands, breathe, laugh, grieve, wonder, connect—and perhaps hear something inside yourself that has been difficult to hear in all the noise.
Because I have come to believe that sometimes what we need most isn’t another answer.
We need somewhere to return.
That is what I dream Finding Grace will become.
A place of connection between people, animals, nature and God. A place where belonging has room to grow. A place where love isn’t simply something we talk about, but something we practice.
And maybe that’s why the name was never Found Grace.
It’s Finding Grace.
Because I don’t think any of us arrives once and for all.
We listen.
We seek.
We discover.
We build.
We love.
And when we lose our way—
we return.
